Co-Founder Kallie North has been rescuing stray animals for as long as she can remember. She is mom to 8 rescue animalsโ6 dogs and 2 cats. Her move to Nicaragua in 2019 revealed the huge need for animal medical care in rural communities. Wanting to take immediate & direct action, she teamed up with Claudia to plan the first clinic and Dos Amigas Rescue was born.

Co-founder Claudia Schocher has always had a deep passion and love for animals. Some would even say she speaks the language of animals. She has called Nicaragua home for over six years and has been feeding and fostering stray animals in the community since she arrived. She currently lives on a farm with her 6 rescue animalsโ2 horses, 2 dogs and 2 cats.

Team member Abel Espinoza was born and raised in Escamequita. His love for animals and the deep connection he shares with the local community is invaluable for facilitating real change through the Dos Amiga efforts.
